Lane Powell’s licensure practice, which is operated under the Approvalign® name, is a continuation of the business started in 2010 by The Nathanson Group PLLC (“TNG”) whose attorneys and staff transitioned to Lane Powell on June 1, 2022. 

The Approvalign® name is intended to represent the relationship between the APPROVALs which are being sought and the ALIGNment with the regulators which is critical to getting those approvals. While at TNG, the Approvalign® team also developed a proprietary database, known as Approvatrack®, which serves as both a repository of licensure information and the means by which the Approvalign® team completes licensure applications.

We believe, and our clients can attest to the fact that, the Approvatrack® database puts the Approvalign® licensure team in a unique position within the senior housing industry of having ready access to key licensure information and the tools to efficiently and effectively prepare licensure applications. It is estimated that annually the team handles no less than 70 licensure applications, 15 to 20 change of manager applications, and 120 to 200 ancillary permit applications for our senior housing clients throughout the U.S.
